Together, we have managed to increase the available habitat here for the Pearl-bordered and Small Pearl-bordered fritillaries. But there is always more to do! We will be cutting scrub to open up new areas, enabling the violets to flourish.

We will be working again in partnership with Tim Hutton at 'Yurtworks' helping him with scrub clearance on his land that holds a colony of Pearl-bordered Fritillaries. There will be a fire and hot vegetarian soup. Your help would be gratefully received.

Thanks to your continuing help this area is becoming more and more suitable for the return of the Marsh Fritillary. We will be cutting scrub to further open up the common and there will be a fire. Your survey work last year has shown that the butterfly is now breeding very close by and we want to help it return to this lovely site that is accessible to the local community.

Cornwall Garden Society's renowned Spring Flower Show, is set to be the best yet. This is the first time that we have had a presence and will be offering activities designed to nurture an interest in gardening, wildlife and the natural world. We would really appreciate your help at our stall providing membership, selling books and gifts plus children's activities.

Volunteering sessions would be in 2 hour slots, you get Free Entry and can then explore the rest of the show!

We are pleased to be part of this wonderful, student led annual event. We will be fundraising, running children's activities and also leading a butterfly & moth walk. We would like a rota of volunteers to cover this, with slots covering two hour periods. This means that you will still have plenty of time to enjoy the BioBlitz!

An all day community event

Our second Butterfly Festival in St Breward celebrating local lepidoptera! Again in partnership with 'Yurtworks' we will be running guided walks for adults and children to learn more about local butterflies and moths. There will be bric-a-brac and a giant tombola. With over 100 attendees last year, we would appreciate help, even if you can only spare an hour,

Community Moth Event

One for All Community Garden, The Community Hub, 111 Kinsman Estate, Bodmin PL31 1PQ

Wednesday 29/05/19 (evening set up) & Thursday 30/05/19 (morning)

Working with the University of Exeter to provide a two day moth event in half term week. Our colleagues at the 'One for All Community Garden' will enable us to give an insight into the wildlife than can be found in Bodmin at night-time! We aim to attract families with children, as it will be fun, awe-inspiring and educational. Suitable for all, with plenty of knowledgeable enthusiasts to help develop a fascination with moths. There will be refreshments and a children's photo competition.

Please let us know if you can spare time to help on either or both days.

Our annual open day for the general public with all funds we raise going to support CBC and Plantlife's National Meadows Day. People can come and freely explore our Chairman's beautiful wildlife haven with it's wonderful walks and lakes. You will get Free Entry (including food) if you can help out on this important day, welcoming visitors, serving food, offering membership, running a raffle & stalls etc.
